Press Release Body = Mr. Gross\' work includes oil paintings of the Sacramento Valley
and the city of San Francisco. His compositions are noted for their unique
perspectives, often sighting down the center of a irrigation canal, a country road,
a line of telephone poles or just as often from an aerial viewpoint about 300 feet
above ground. A former geologist, he is keen on maps and each painting is
accompanied with specific map coordinates. Much of his work in this show is based on
the county roads between Winters, Davis and Woodland.

Phil Gross was recently selected to be part of the prestigious \"2007 Yosemite
Artist in Residence Program\".
